Make Art Magic February Theme

February Theme: When You're Perfectly Free
So this month, I want to explore the feeling of being free, of letting down our guard, letting go of expectations and visions of past and future, and just being. We all have moments when this feeling enters us like a swift wind and carries us into the heart of our true selves.

From Rumi:
“Dance, when you're broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you're perfectly free.”

As my favorite yoga teacher, Julian Walker, always says during class, "Come as you are. Some of us are heart-broken today. Some of us are happy. Some of us are tired or have a cold. Some of us are in love. We all take turns. Come as you are." This is such an inspiring mediation on true freedom.

For inspiration, here is a little gallery of artwork that was created for the January Make Art Magic theme: Eyes of Wonder

Clockwise from top left: Ben McGuire, Dawn Wolf, Christine Aseka, Katya Rudneva, Cindy Lee
I love how these pieces fit perfectly together even though they were made by different artists in different places of the world and probably have never met. Lovely and filled with wonder.
