Letting go
This is also an example of what happens when you use watercolor on paper that is only meant for dry media and also remove your masking liquid with the wrong type of eraser. The paper starts buckling, making weird dots and textures, and ripping..... but you just keep going anyway because you're curious about the things you can't control.

I love the colours you've used. I know what you mean about moving.. I had my dream house and had to leave it 8 years ago and haven't had a "home" since. Hopefully next year my old charentaise farmhouse will be renovated so that I can move into it and finally say I'm home...

Great post and lovely piece.
When you were 5 years old and we moved from one house to another, it was a big transition for you; mostly because you had memories in your old home and the new home was without memories. We found a way to overcome that hurdle by immediately planning a Valentine's Day Party for you and all your new friends. Many years later and a lot more moves, you are still finding ways to convert adversity to opportunity. This painting is absolutely beautiful and really reflects the little girl in you. I could look at it for hours!
Wow! You have done a lot of moving in a short amount of time. You are wise to know the difference between what you can control and to make peace with what you can't both in your art and in life. Well done on both accounts!
